The HOGWARTS Tag

Time Check: 1:27AM. Welcome to the night owls who are still awake, like me.

Today I am bringing to you a book tag that is close to my heart – a Hogwarts Tag. I saw this tag done by Sarah of Sarah Withers Blogs, you can check out her post and her blog too.

Being as it was Harry’s 39th birthday a few days ago, I thought it would be fun to listen to the Audiobook of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as narrated by Stephen Fry. Good lord, I was in audio book heaven listening to his narration. And of course I saw this tag, sooo I tag away.

Am I a pureblood, half-blood, or muggle born?

One of my parents is one of the biggest muggles I’ve ever seen, maybe worse than the Dursleys but I think I may have witches for ancestors. I never got my letter so I might not be magical enough to get into the Wizarding school in my continent but I do know I can weave magic with my words.

Which wand chose me?

My Pottermore/Wizarding World wand is Sycamore wood with a unicorn hair core, 10″ and slightly springy flexibility.

Here’s more information about my wand according to Wand Woods and Wand Cores by J.K. Rowling:

I think this wood describes me to a T. I can’t stay still sometimes and I need to be doing something even if I can’t move a lot. I try to keep my mind sharp as much as possible. I get it from my grandparents.

Prone to melancholy‘..ohh boy..this wand didn’t just choose me for nothing.

Did I take an owl, cat, rat, or toad with me?

I’m as much a cat person as any and I would have probably brought a purple cat with me.

Where did the sorting hat put me?

It doesn’t matter how often I take the Sorting Hat Quiz at Pottermore or anywhere else, I am always sorted into Gryffindor. A lot of the times I really don’t feel brave, courageous, chivalrous, daring, or bold, but I push through with what life throws at me. I guess that was what the Sorting Hat saw.

My Ilvermorny sorting placed me in Horned Serpent.

Named by Isolt Sayre after the great horned river serpent that has a jewel set into its forehead; Horned Serpent house is sometimes considered to represent the mind of a witch or wizard. It is also said that Horned Serpent favours scholars.

– J.K. Rowling

What house did I want to be in?

I was actually expecting to be sorted into Ravenclaw. Give me my books and knowledge anytime. Now I know what Hermoine feels.

What lessons are my favourite and least favourite?

Favorites:

I’ve always been the reader in my class since I could remember and I like history (weird right?). So I guess I’d love History of Magic, Astronomy, Transfiguration, Study of Ancient Runes, and maybe Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Least Favorites:

I have to agree with Hermoine with Divination, then Herbology (I kill plants with just a touch), and Potions.

So the other subject I didn’t mention fall in between all these as ok subjects. I have fear of heights so I might not like Flying lessons at the beginning but I’m not scared to try.

The form my Patronus takes:

My Patronus is a Humming Bird. My Happiness and Hope – small, but it is still there.

As a pure, protective magical concentration of happiness and hope (the recollection of a single talisman memory is essential in its creation) it is the only spell effective against Dementors.

– Patronus Charm

What does a Boggart look like to me?

My Boggart would be a lot of things, but most especially it would be like looking in a mirror and seeing myself.

Do I partake in any magical hobbies or school sports?

Sports has hated me since even before I started preschool. My knees and ankles could never hold me up properly enough and I always end up with a lot of scrapes and broken bones so my school hobby is reading. You’ll find me in the library or in my bed with books.

Where would I find myself hanging in my free time?

Gryffindor Common room, the library, and the shores of the Black lake if it’s a good day.

What would I most likely get detention for?

I learned how to sneak out when I was in secondary school and I took that with me to Uni. So yeah, I’d be sent to detention for sneaking around and out of my classes.

What career do I want after leaving Hogwarts?

I’d become a teacher in Hogwarts. I can teach Ancient Runes

Are you a Potterhead like me? Which House were you sorted in? I’d love to meet more Gryffindors and of course make friends with people from other houses. Send me an owl in the comments.

  1. What a fun tag!!! And such a lovely patronus โค Pottermore said that my patronus was a brown bear, which I tend to agree withโ€“protective and loyal and bold, I guess.
