Stay at Home Book Tag

It’s been a while since the last time I did a book tag and I haven’t seen one appropriate for the quarantine most of the world is experiencing right now. On one of my very few forays into Book Twitter I saw a post by Adele of Dellybird where she was asking who I wanted to be tagged in a book tag she was doing. Heck yeah I volunteered. 😉

I only have a few days left before I go back to work, so here goes my Stay at Home Book Tag.

Laying in bed — A book you read in one day

I can read about 3-5 books in 24 hours (if I’m not in a book/life slump), not counting the bathroom breaks and kitchen runs so I can’t really answer this question with just 1 book. Here are the last 4 books I’ve read, each one within a day.

Snacking – A book that is a ‘guilty pleasure’ read

My ‘guilty pleasure’ reads are my favorite go-to books – Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, The Little Prince, The Alchemist. And then there are my High Fantasy books like the ACOTAR series, Six of Crows duology, Strange the Dreamer duology, and The Reader series. Aaaacckkk…. I can’t choose.

Netflix — A series that you want to start

Hhhhmmmm….. I have a few series books that are partially finished and ones I want to reread, but I don’t think I have one that I’d like to start. Let me think….. So I saw some of these 2020 releases that look interesting.

Deep clean — A book that has been on your TBR for ages

Funny 😹😹😹…I have like a gajillion books in my TBR pile. I just got myself a few (24) books at the Big Bad Wolg Bookdale last February and I’ve barely made a dent on reading them.

Animal Crossing — A book you recently bought because of the hype

I’ve never been one to buy a book just for the hype (**cough**The Cruel Prince**cough**). I buy what I want to read whether it’s totally hyped upped or not.

Productivity — A book you learned from or had an impact on you

I always say The Little Prince and The Alchemist whenever I encounter this question so I’m going to give an entirely different answer this time. I read The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino when I was a teenager (16 or 17 I think), and it has left a lasting impression on me. I no longer know where my book is and I desperately want to read it again.

FaceTime — A book you were gifted

I have to admit I haven’t received a book as a gift since I was not in high school and I don’t even remember the title of the book my bestfriend gave me.

Self-care — What is one thing you have done recently to look after yourself

Surprisingly – not read. I’ve been feeling the pressure of reading and blogging on top of the Covid19 Pandemic and being on community quarantine for the last 2 months or so. It was (still is) a major life slump.

Coffee and getting as much sleep as I want plus my Asian Dramas have been what’s kept me sane in these times.

BONUS — An upcoming release you are looking forward to

Ok, so this book already came out a couple of weeks ago and I badly need it.

Nominations? Have at it!

What have you been up to recently? Are you keeping safe at home? What books are you reading? I’d love to hear from you guys.

  1. Ouhh this is a nice tag aswell!

omg, teach me your ways! How do you fit 3-4 books in a day? do you take breaks? do you wake up early? multitask? I’m so eager to be able to finish a book in one day again.. 😓 It has been a while, i think last time I remember doing that I was atleast 16/17?? which im turning 26 now soo ahahah. My concentration span is just not what it was… i’d probably need breaks and make sure i’m alone for the whole day or something so i’m sure nothing would distract me xd

    1. What is sleep? 😹😹😹

But seriously I don’t sleep when I read 3-5 books in 24hrs. But over the years I’ve lessened the number of books to about 2-3 it I feel like it 😹😹. Now I’m on a slump so no reading. I have replaced it with binge watching Asian Dramas 🙀.

      1. well.. that’s fair- ahah!

I feel like this would be a lot more doable for me with audiobooks.. given that I can multitask while still taking in the story, ahah!
Ohh that’s so me- I still read mostly every night but I pass my daytime doing anything else BUT xd mostly gaming at this period in time because… warp me in another world please.

  2. I’d like to do this tag. Pretty nice. 😊 This quarantine has changed a lot of our lives but I hope we’re all safe. And it made me watch more movies and animes. 😅

  3. Thanks for completing the tag 😊 We have the same taste in ‘guilty pleasure books’! Haha, I’m sure The Cruel Prince hype persuaded a lot of people to pick up the book or at least drew attention to it for people who would inevitably pick it up anyway. New book announced too 💛
